Cooper: Diane, last night I dreamed I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop, and awoke to discover I was chewing on one of my foam disposable earplugs. Perhaps I should consider moderating my nighttime coffee consumption.

08/31/2008: "Cary Grant"

"Notorious" is another of the four Hitchcock movies Cary Grant did and the first of two movies with Ingrid Bergman. It came out only a year after WWII ended, and was all about Nazis plotting in South America. It's a nice, suspenseful spy/love story. But you don't need me to tell you that. I'd guess it's as well known as any on the Cary Grant Project list so far, excepting perhaps the other Hitchcock film.

1. "The Philadelphia Story", 1940, also starring Katharine Hepburn and James Stewart
2. "North By Northwest", 1959, also starring Eva Marie Saint and James Mason
3. "The Pride And The Passion", 1957, also starring Frank Sinatra and Sophia Loren
4. "I Was A Male War Bride", 1949, also starring Ann Sheridan
5. "Monkey Business", 1952, also starring Ginger Rogers
6. "Houseboat", 1958, also starring Sophia Loren
7. "Arsenic And Old Lace", 1944, also starring Raymond Massey
8. "People Will Talk", 1951, also starring Hume Cronyn
9. "Notorious", 1946, also starring Ingrid Bergman and Claude Rains
