Cooper: Diane, last night I dreamed I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop, and awoke to discover I was chewing on one of my foam disposable earplugs. Perhaps I should consider moderating my nighttime coffee consumption.

Standup Philosopher

Someone's found a way to make Garfield interesting; sometimes funny, but mostly serious, depressing, existentialist.... And this transformation is achieved by merely removing Garfield from every panel, like this one:

Heavy.

Snooks

Snooks' playing is pretty amazing. I'm no guitar technician, but it looks as if he's just strumming while it sounds like both rhythm and lead parts.

Theater

Last chance to see me in my boxer shorts! Thankfully for the general public, that only lasts for a few seconds at the beginning of the show. Curtain goes up for the final performance of "The Fantasticks" at 7 pm tonight, at CLC, in the C wing's auditorium. And it's only 5 bucks! Now I begin the long journey from Rosemont to Grayslake.

Theater

Just so the thousands who read this know, the "dinner theater" night for "The Fantasticks" (the 16th) did not receive the minimum reservations required by the caterer. But the show will go on as planned at 8 pm for the regular $8 admission; just with no dinner. You'll probably be able to get a good seat, since it won't be widely known that the show is just a show now. And you could take the extra $17 that the dinner would have cost and stop by a Subway for 3 foot long subs. (I'll take a Meatball Marinara, an Italian BMT, and a Seafood Sensation, please. With provolone cheese. Ranch and honey mustard. And throw tomatoes, black olives, and pickles on all those suckers. And salt, pepper, oregano. And oil & vinegar. And no, I don't want to make it a meal. Yes, I'm sure.) Better go early. It might take a while to eat 3 feet worth of subs.

One week till "The Fantasticks" opens. At this moment, it's easier for me to type in the info from the flyer instead of scanning it, so here it is. This doesn't mention it, but there's also a show on Feb 22nd at the College of Lake County. It also doesn't mention that the non-dinner shows are (I believe) $8 at the door.

Drinks

Wow, it's been 6 months since I've had a refreshing Coke. I don't think there's a man, woman or child alive who doesn't enjoy a lovely beverage. But I haven't had any pop since August 5th. I have had plenty of coffee and "energy drinks", which I don't count as pop. But if I'm out somewhere, I'll just have water. Or lemonade. Or something. I should celebrate! With a delicious, mind-bending, wish-granting vanilla Coke? Mmm. Maybe next month.
