Cooper: Diane, last night I dreamed I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop, and awoke to discover I was chewing on one of my foam disposable earplugs. Perhaps I should consider moderating my nighttime coffee consumption.

11/15/2008: "Theater"

My 30th show, about a month from now, will be "Nutcracker" -- not the mostly-dance Nutcracker I've been in the last 3 years, but a short children's musical. I'll still be Godfather Drosselmeyer, though. And also Sweet Tooth (a bumbling sidekick to the Mouse Queen) and the ill-fated Mouse King.

But first! "Disney's Beauty & The Beast" runs for 5 performances, starting Thursday through next Sunday.

Which one are you playing, the BEAST? I seem to recall a clip from that movie over at the Club-Ribar. What time is the saturday performance?

Ha ha, you're killing me. Something has probably gone horribly wrong if I'm the male lead and/or title character. Not "horrible" as in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-ALong Blog" but, you know. The Beast has lots of intense scenes and several songs with "beautiful" singing. I'm Maurice, the dad. I do have one and a half songs, but I was told the part was written with a non-singer in mind -- like Tom Bosley, who played the role on Broadway! -- so I think they're happy if I just remember the words.

Saturday's a busy day: shows at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.
