Cooper: Diane, last night I dreamed I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop, and awoke to discover I was chewing on one of my foam disposable earplugs. Perhaps I should consider moderating my nighttime coffee consumption.

05/25/2008: "Movies"

As I was watching "The Philadelphia Story" yesterday -- not for the first time -- it occurred to me that -- also not for the first time -- I don't think there's a movie Cary Grant did that I don't like. Perhaps I just like the Cary Grant. And I decided on a new little project for myself. (Never mind that there are already a million unfinished little projects in my head.) Starting with yesterday, and ignoring all that went before yesterday (I'd estimate I've seen about 9 of his flicks), I'm going to watch all of Cary Grant's movies. Not in a day or a week, but, you know, eventually. This may not, in fact, be possible -- he did an awful lot in the '30s -- but that never stopped me before. Actually collecting all of his movies would be an even cooler project, but I'm not going to go that far. Watching them all will be enough.

As of today, my Cary Grant project total is at one:
1. "The Philadelphia Story", 1940, also starring Katharine Hepburn & James Stewart

Hey, Pirate-Dan, wasn't the Cary Grant in "San Francisco"? Saw it. How bout "Gone With the Wind"? Missed it. Well, I saw a Edward G. Robinson festival once. Plus a James Cagney marathon. Movies after movies of "black and white" gangsters. No, whites.

Um, I don't think I've seen "San Francisco", but, to answer your question, no. Clark Gable was in "San Francisco". And "Gone With The Wind", again, that was Clark Gable.

Whatever, Dan. Clark Gable, Carry Grant, what-EVER! Now when it comes to 'Some Like it Hot' & 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', yeah, I can tell the difference in those eyes.
