Weird Dan


Hey, it's Weird Al's birthday! 48 big years. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a failed knockoff version of Al. Check out this video about spelling and accordions. I'm not sure if I've heard anything about him and spelling bees before, but if true, that's just one more of many freaky similarities ("coincidences" for the rational and logical) between us. You could practically replace Al with a cartoon version of me in this video without changing any of the audio and it would all still be true.

Friday, October 12th

Surgery


Wow. My (unanticipated) readmission and second abdominal incision in the month of September left me isolated and computer-free for an extra two weeks leading up until, well, now. (On the other hand, it did give me a chance to ask an anesthesiologist if I'd ever play the violin again, while we waited for my favorite surgeon to make a special late Saturday night drive down to the hospital.)

Did you miss me? One appropriate answer to that question would be, "Yes, like a pig misses slop."
