Cooper: Diane, last night I dreamed I was eating a large, tasteless gumdrop, and awoke to discover I was chewing on one of my foam disposable earplugs. Perhaps I should consider moderating my nighttime coffee consumption.

Projects

The year is one month old and I've managed to take a photo each day. Does the collection say anything about me, or is it just a bunch of random stuff? That's a question for my hagiographer. (Hagiographer to be appointed at a future date.)

Meanwhile, I've seen 27 Cary Grant movies since starting that project 8 months ago -- which leaves me with 46 to go.

But what about a Killer Owl project? A what?

Cary Grant

In "Only Angels Have Wings", Cary Grant is a pilot delivering mail in some remote area of South America. Living a life of daring and adventure. It's mostly about the pilots and their reckless abandon. And this chick (Jean Arthur) who stops by when her ship is in port and decides to stick around.

Photo Project

I've got another project that seems pointless -- but perhaps has some meaning upon further reflection. Far out, man. It's a photo-a-day project. We'll see how long I can stick with it. My life isn't so fascinating that I have interesting things to photograph every day, but maybe that has some meaning, too. Call it art and you can say any crazy thing about it!

I've made it through one week. I'm storing it in a public picasa web album. You don't need picasa or even a google account to view it. I thought I'd try that instead of creating a facebook album. I've been using the picasa for organizing photos, so I wanted to try out the web album. It's got people tagging like facebook -- although more automated and with less user control over it -- and I kind of like the slideshow option and the geotagging, even though chances are all my photos will be taken pretty much in the same place. Check it out.

Cary Grant

And now my TiVo is empty of Cary Grant movies. There are still a few well-known ones, some that I've already seen even, but the other several dozen are probably going to be hard to come by. Today I saw "The Bishop's Wife", which is a good film if you're in a holiday mood, or if you just feel like one of those old-timey churchey movies Hollywood used to make, back before you were born. Cary Grant is an angel that comes around to help out a bishop and his wife. And wacky hijinks ensue! No, not really. But he does help out as best he can.
