One With Landru
The Lyrics
Solid She Said
(© 1998, Daniel C. Eaglin)
Refrain:
You know this stuff is gold --
Solid, she said.
She sounded so sincere
That it went straight to my head.
I looked back again
And I just melted at her smile.
You've got the kind of stuff, she said,
That's never out of style.
1. I wondered what
This thing could be.
Some kind of sign,
A signal perhaps,
Directed at me?
Don't know the code.
It might be a joke.
My mind was enflamed
As I lit up her smoke.
2. Her tattoo of
A demon's head
Made me wonder
If I should trust
A thing she had said.
It turned out that
I just didn't care
When I saw the way
She was flippin' her hair.
3. She didn't leave
Which left me shocked.
The silence grew
To fill the air.
Our eyes remained locked.
My inside voice
Screamed out in my mind.
Do something and quick
This girl's one of a kind.
Bridge:
Tell her you dig
Her sparkling eyes
Tell her the truth
Or make up some lies.
The sign that you seek
Is not going to come
So get her a drink
Or give her some gum.
You already got
Her vocalized praise.
That might be enough
To last a few days.
But make your own luck.
Speak up now for sure.
She said you were great.
Say it right back to her.
Penguins Can't Fly
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
Refrain:
Stop the presses, I'm telling you why.
This much I know: Penguins can't fly.
Like George Washington, I cannot lie.
Hear what I say: Penguins can't fly.
1. Haben Sie das time?
Then listen to the truth.
Of course there was a team
Supporting John Wilkes Booth.
The bankers had him kill.
And then they let him die.
You may think you're at the wheel.
Hold on now, penguins can't fly.
2. Lusitania was sunk
To get US into war.
And rising from this fight
A new world to restore.
The ammo and the gas
Were sold to every side.
The banks made giant loans
While the soldier pawns got fried.
3. To get a central bank
Which could really run the show
J. P. Morgan caused a Panic.
Put the squeeze on people's dough.
Split the vote in 1912.
Their boy Woodrow'd clinch the win.
Now the people and their leader
Would beg them to jump in.
Freemasons and Rockefellers
All across the land.
They didn't have to fight,
They just met public demand.
Folks get what they deserve.
Most could not say why.
Pilots got their parachute,
But what's this? Penguins can't fly!
All Hail Brak
(© 1998, Daniel C. Eaglin)
1. The corporation has decreed,
One government is all we need.
While we still rule behind the scene
Some figurehead who's crisp and clean.
This puppet's beloved by all groups,
By soccer moms and army troops,
Who little kids will emulate,
Won't mess with our affairs of state.
Refrain:
He came to us from outer space.
All hail Brak.
He'll help control the human race.
All hail Brak.
His simple manner calms the crowd.
All hail Brak.
Now they'll do just what they're allowed.
All hail Brak.
2. This Pied Piper in Washington
Shields people from the things we've done.
They actually think that they chose him.
He thinks it, too. He's just that dim.
With welfare checks and TV shows
And Prozac for the highs and lows
We've reached our goal without a fight.
We own the day and rule the night.
Psycho Zone
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
Refrain:
I can see you through the window
Across the boulevard.
Since you never close the blinds
It isn't really hard.
So don't tell me that you're busy
When I call you on the phone.
You don't want to make me crazy
When I'm in the psycho zone.
1. It's been 27 minutes
Since last I saw your face
I lost you in a crowd
Half a mile from your place.
Your photo calms me down
Till I spot you once again.
I know where you are going
And I know where you have been.
2. Your image covers all my walls
From ceilings to the floor.
I've tapped your telephone
But I'm yearning to do more.
Your head sculpted from bronze,
Cobalt laser beams for eyes,
Gives the orders I obey.
This thing's ten times actual size.
Bridge:
Tell me, tell me what to do.
I'll do it right away.
Just concentrate on what you want
I'll hear and I'll obey.
Landru
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
Intro:
All she will say is that we're through.
From the look on her face, it must be true.
It must be my fault -- if not, then who.
Won't somebody please tell me what to do.
1. You're not alone, so have no fear.
Come to the far side of the mirror.
The joy you seek's inside of you.
Be just like us, the chosen few.
Landru keeps a watchful eye.
We never laugh, but we don't cry.
No need to worry who's your friend.
We're one with Landru till the end.
Refrain:
Clear your head and free your mind.
The peace you want, he'll help you find.
Landru knows and Landru cares.
Look around and Landru's there.
He'll provide the things you need.
Wipe out envy, pride, and greed
Put your faith in Landru's way,
A gentle numbness night and day.
2. Your passion will be cut away.
That's truly a small price to pay.
Contentment in your daily life.
You'll never miss the stress and strife.
Monotony will fill your days
As you enjoy your purple haze.
Come join us now and feel the bliss.
You know you want a piece of this.
3. At Festival we really rock.
Once a year on every block
Landru's people get to purge
And act on any crazy urge.
Then back to thought-free harmony,
Global mediocrity.
No conflicts between guys and chicks.
No feelings hurt, no separate cliques.
Outro:
We're through, is all the girl would say.
For that I'm thankful every day.
I'm down with Landru's better way.
In Landru's world is where I'll stay.
Jericho's Wall
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
1. Violence and destruction
Wherever I go.
Frozen, empty wastelands.
There's blood on the snow.
Misery surrounds me.
I scoff at their pleas.
No one renders judgment.
I take what I seize.
Refrain:
Trembling bodies, Quivering lips
Outlaws and Bloods, Grand Knights and Crips
I bring the plague. It's meant for you all.
Habakkuk is knocking down Jericho's wall.
Pestilence spreading. I am the source.
Unmoving objects, Infinite force
Piercing decay, Lucifer's fall
I'm the one rocking on Jericho's wall.
2. No rod can chastise me.
I'm bitter straight through.
Bring me all the misery
Devouring you.
Even Babylon is gone,
Crushed under my heel.
Your purity can't match
My tormented zeal.
3. Woe to those against me.
Get drunk on my wrath.
Your glory's turned to shame.
Living in the past.
There's violence on the land,
The towns and the seas.
There's no more beasts, no more birds,
No flowers or trees.
Bridge:
Curses on me And all I survey.
Nobody's left to stand in my way.
Curses on you, So blindly devout.
Got what I want And now I want out.
The CFR Has Gone To Far
(© 1998, Daniel C. Eaglin)
1. For centuries they've worked for this.
One big world of zombie bliss.
They got real tough in '21.
The CFR had just begun.
The federal tax and central banks
(Two of Marx's biggest planks)
Had been set up; the stage was set.
The World War had made its threat.
But Wilson's League did not survive
So the CFR got organized.
Its founding goal: one world state.
These Insiders can alter fate.
Refrain:
The CFR has gone too far.
They put a bug in my guitar.
You say I'm crazy, out of touch.
They're after me 'cause I know too much.
2. One took my baby on a date.
Now she's got a job at State.
I tried to get her back, you see.
That's when they took a look at me.
I've got no friends like David Rock.
Not even fit to hold his jock.
But I'm no corporate rocker fool,
Another global power tool.
The media and business, too
All work to further what they do.
One world cowed, anesthetized.
Insider's profit maximized.
3. 80 years have come and gone.
The people merely shrug and yawn.
My baby's long forgot my name.
She's got it all; I can't place blame.
The Morgans and the Carnegies
Control the land, the air, the seas.
They build their towers in the sky
But some day everyone must die.
As secret as they seem to be,
Their goals were published, plain to see.
I dug right through their paper trail.
That's why I busted out of jail.
Bridge:
Most presidential candidates.
Elders behind golden gates.
The whole Department of State.
C. F. R., C. F. R.
Power hungry charlatans.
Speak of peace, take our guns.
All for increased business funds.
C. F. R., C. F. R.
Rebound Guy
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
1. Well, everybody's got their place.
And some prefer a little space.
But most are either with a friend,
A partner till the bitter end.
Or else they're searching for that one
Who'll be their morning ray of sun.
But now you've reached that brutal phase.
The two have gone their separate ways.
It seems unlikely to you now
You'll get another special pal.
It won't be long. I have no doubt.
But in the meantime, please check me out.
Refrain:
It's obvious, I realized.
You're vulnerable and compromised.
This state I won't take advantage of
By vowing my eternal love.
That kind of thing I just can't stand
So if you're willing, take my hand.
I want to be -- at least, I'll try --
Your temporary rebound guy.
2. Your friends will warn you, take it slow.
Enjoy your freedom. Just say no.
But that's the beauty of my plan.
I've thought it out as best I can.
I know that you're just bouncing back
With suitors swarming in a pack.
With me, you know that in the end
I'm back to being your non-special friend.
I'm perfect for this interim deal.
Non-threat'ning and, of course, I won't steal.
You won't fall hard, but I'll be there.
I'm temporary, and yet I still care.
3. I'm sure you've seen the way I stare,
Admiring your auburn hair,
Your face, and yes, your crinkled nose,
And even how you wear your clothes.
But we're just friends, so I speak not,
Just waiting for I know not what.
I don't presume to think that I
Could be more than your rebound guy.
But maybe even that's too much.
Some crazy, fevered dream, and such.
Just say the word, I'll try to cease.
I'm only trying to get me some peace.
Object Of Derision
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
Refrain:
I'm an unlikely object of derision.
But you've made clear that's your position.
With my heart in hand, I made my stand.
This outcome no one could envision.
1. You put me on your list
Of guys that you won't miss.
Because I said too much
I got myself in dutch.
I told you that you're great.
For that I earned your hate.
2. It really is quite a shame.
Society's to blame.
I read the scene completely wrong.
Your feelings weren't so strong.
That sparkle in your eyes.
It was me that you despise.
Nothing
(© 1999, Daniel C. Eaglin)
1. Dirt on my hands.
Dirt on my face.
Never knew the meaning of things like style and grace.
Kicked like a dog.
Kicked when I'm down.
Crying on the inside like a happy-faced clown.
Refrain:
I've got nothing.
I know nothing.
I am nothing but blue.
I do nothing.
I feel nothing.
I mean nothing to you
2. Give me some peace.
Give me some hope.
I asked you for the time and you came back with a rope.
Alms for the poor.
Alms for the weak.
All I know for sure is that we no longer speak.
3. Struggling to move.
Struggling to breathe.
Got no motivation, I don't ever want to leave.
Call me a creep.
Call me a mope.
Nothing really matters; I don't even want your dope.
Bridge:
Isolated from the crowd.
Not something of which I'm proud.
I'm bent and broke and even bowed.
Can't be heard when I scream out loud.
